Learn more about your ancestors and how they lived

Are you interested in learning who your ancestors were and how they lived? If so, I can trace their origins in North Yorkshire and surrounding areas. There’s nothing like pursuing an ancestral trail to help you discover your roots!

Have you undergone DNA testing and discovered ancestral roots in the UK? DNA connections are only half the story - let me seek out the stories behind the sequencing.

On completion of the research, you may wish to engage the services of a Memoir Writer - I can heartily recommend Caroline Brannigan , based in Richmond, N Yks.

Or you may be interested to learn more about a particular property. Could it be that your current home had a former life as a farm building, a shop or as part of a manor house?

How we used to live

Similarly you may want to know more about a specific locality and what it was like to live there during a specific period. How did people earn a living and what happened to them if they couldn’t work. Did a family member spend time in the Workhouse?

For businesses as well as families

Does your business have a long-standing heritage which underpins the trust and loyalty your clients have in you? Have you considered how best to bring this to the forefront to ensure clients continue to choose you?

What my clients say

'I am very pleased with the Family History research on my step-mother which Maxine recently conducted for me. My communication with Maxine (via the internet) was very easy, and professional, and I consider value for money. I would not hesitate to recommend her services to others seeking assistance sourcing family history information from overseas. Thank you Maxine.'  P Saunders, Queensland, Australia

'I'm not sure the words thank you do justice to the wealth of information you have found! I took it to my Nana's yesterday and she was blown away thank you. You put to bed some questions she had around memories from her childhood and of course, raised some more...' B Turner, Catterick, North Yorkshire

'Brilliant Maxine!! I'm really impressed. You have uncovered a broad family influence, far beyond anything I could have hoped to discover on my own and I am really pleased.'  P Willans, St Albans, Hertfordshire

Thanks so much for all your hard work and the high standard of your presentation of detail. The whole exercise was fascinating and meticulous especially as it has had to be done from a distance, How you did all this in the small window of time I shall never know. As a retired Consultant in my own field let's just say "it takes a goodun to recognise a goodun." A M Brushett, Cumbria
